This family loves climbing at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, so I met them there.
It was early. We had the place to ourselves as the sun began to soak the rocks and warm the air. The wind wrestled with the girls’ hair and carried their laughter through the pines.
They climbed and chased, balanced and raced. The girls falling into their parents’ arms at different times seeking comfort and affirmation.
These, to me, are the sacred moments that beautifully define family.
It all played out on the rocks that morning. It was wonderful.
